FASHION-conscious women are spending online at almost twice the pace of men.
Busy consumers hunting cheaper prices and greater convenience are driving an almost 25 per cent rise in online retailing to $11.7 billion in the past year, National Australia Bank research says.The data shows online spending is growing faster than the traditional bricks-and-mortar sales, with the time-poor 30-40 age group the biggest spenders.
The Australian online shopping boom is set to double to almost $27 billion within four years, PricewaterhouseCoopers estimates.
Domestic retailers remain the dominant force, but about one in four purchases is from an international website.
